2 nights of Krantz, Carlock and Lefebvre--- Wed. Dec. 9th and Thurs. Dec. 10th
Ex / sideman with Steely Dan, Michael Brecker, Donald ***en, Chris Potter and many others, Wayne Krantz has made seven acclaimed albums under his own name since1991 and, most recently, the self-produced CDs "Greenwich Mean", "Your Basic Live" and "Your Basic Live '06". One of Krantz’s recording bands since ‘97, a trio with Tim Lefebvre and Keith Carlock. Keith Carlock, named one of the top three drummers by the Modern Drummer Readers poll three years in a row, has also toured with Steely Dan and Donald ***en and has played on Sting records.* Carlock and Krantz have recorded 3 albums together and have toured in Europe and the US, though they have always been most easily found at NYCs 55 Bar on Thursday nights. Without the excess of promotional hype, the music has found a devoted, underground, international audience who, with their growing support, keep the music moving forward
