Recently revalved my Marshall JCM800 head with JJ valves and my usual classic smooth distortion sound (via Boss GT8) has developed a fizzy, almost wasp in a can overtone which is not nice. Any ideas for a cure?
Use the amp distortion instead?
I need a variety of sounds hence the GT8 and was really happy with my sound before changing the tubes, only replaced them as they 'd started to break down. Forgot to say, it's only a single chanel amp.
The GT-8 is known for being fizzy. Maybe something changed on the GT-8, like a global output settings. Been a while since I've had mine.
