OK...I need advice on how to mix it up at all when playing punk, I find it hard trying to write a punk song with anything other than power chords..

Also i was wondering if someone could help by telling me what scales I could use to solo with these chords, or if there are any other chords that would work well with these?

e|---------| X2
B|---------|
G|---------|
D|--2------|
A|--2------|
E|--0------|

e|----2----| X4
B|----3----|
G|----2----|
D|----0----|
A|----0----|
E|---------|

e|---3-----| X8
B|---3-----|
G|---0-----|
D|---0-----|
A|---3-----|
E|---------|

Thanks for your help

You, my friend, are talking about writing REAL songs. Lol.

[Most punk songs consist of mostly powerchords anyway, so if you use power chords, its not going to be bad. Use alot of palm mutes for that punk sound. Also, for your solo, just follow the melody line from your chorus, as alot of punk songs do that. that should give you a basic punk song.

Your chords are E5 - D/A - Csus2. This is in the key of Em.
