k pit, so my strap broke
more specifically, the piece that allows you to adjust the length broke
It looks somewhat like this: (i hope this works)
.------------
|............|
.------------
|............|
.------------

imagine that without the periods

basically, that middle bar broke off
to repair it, my dad applied an epoxy, but it only has like maybe 2-3 square millimeters of contact between the 2 pieces
i use a les paul, so theres always gonna be a constant 13 pounds dragging it down, plus whatever extra weight i apply. The force is gonna be trying to push the middle bar out of position because the strap will be trying to straighten itself (so this is why i took physics...)

my question is:
will that 2-3 square millimeter spot of epoxy be enough to handle all that force?
cuz i really dont wanna find out the hard way

Stop being a cheapo and just buy a new strap. Especially since it's a Les Paul. You don't wanna risk that dropping.

if i knew u i would give u a strap because you must need a strap bad

I would then take the strap back when u were wearing your snuggie

i actually have a backup, but putting it on would mean unscrewing the strap knobs and putting them back in, and the more times i do that, the weaker they become

would then take the plastic piece of my other strap and put it on my MJ

and would probly be homo about it

You're gonna have to set some priorities here.

Strap locks and good straps are basics.

Or play sitting down.

Maybe it means no movies for a month.

y dont you use a safety pin around the plastic thing to help support the weight u no like 2 or three and u should be fine

I dont use the conventional strap locks. I use washers from grolosh (spelled something like that) beer bottles. They are awesome... Strap locks with free beer...

Shouldn't of wasted that money on a snuggie then.

I have been using my Guitar Hero strap lately.

I don't play standing up much.

I also never let go of it, but that little ass strap seems to hold up, espcially since it is a Les Paul.

snuggies are so fing pointless but it's your 20 bucks not mine but yeah a cheapie strap is only 10 bucks

new $10 strap > broken les paul

Man, I wish straps here were only 10$.

The only guitar store for hundres of miles sells thier straps starting at 49$ plus tax.

I would not be using a GH strap if they were that cheap.

schaller strap locks. once you screw those in, you will never screw another. basically like marriage.

Texas, huh? Don't they have Hastings bookstores down there? If I remember right, they got straps there that are only like 20% overpriced.

Or why don't you cut a custom strap out of the Snuggie? That would be br00talz.
#25
Guess they don't have Hastings down there. Do y'all still have a beer drinking goat for a mayor?

"Clay Henry III, beer drinking goat and mayor of the west Texas border town of Lajitas, was attacked by local Jim Bob Hargrove and castrated. Hargrove committed the heinous deed after seeing the goat drinking beer on a Sunday, when the area's blue laws prevent the sale of alcohol to humans. Tourists had apparently been feeding Clay Henry his usual staple of Lone Star longnecks, and Hargrove threatened to castrate the goat, according to eyewitnesses.
The mayor was found lying next to his testicles on Monday, Aug. 5. Ranchers sutured his wounds, and Clay was up slugging down cold ones soon after. Hargrove faces charges of animal cruelty."

That's about 7 year-old news these days... Your last name isn't Hargrove, is it?

especially a les paul
seriously though, epoxy isnt really gonna hold that sorta thing. if its anything like my straps the plastic piece is relatively thin.. nowhere near stong enough to be held by epoxy.

Just buy a new strap if you're not sure. Or just replace the adjustment, you can't be THAT poor?
