an arpeggio means "broken chord", its the shape that you play. Sweeping is the technique of playing the arpeggio on guitar

yes, sweep picking is a technique commonly used to play chord arpeggios. you can technically sweep pick a series of notes that are not in a chord shape. sorry, i kno thats explained rele poorly

Since an arpeggio is just a collection of notes which form a chord they can be played on any instrument.

Sweeping is a technique that is (largely) specific to guitar, you don't necessarily have to sweep arpeggios, it's just common to do so.
