I have two RG's in mind for my first full on rock guitar. I have my strat for blues an reggae, but nothing to fulfill my metal wantings.


So these are the two (both with fixed bridges-MORE SUSTAIN):

They look like they're the exact same except for the looks.

the only difference is a flamed maple top.

Edit: lol am i the only one that immediately understood the 'looks the same as the looks' and didnt give it a second glance?

He means looking at the specs they are very much the same guitar except for the aesthetics of them. But yeah they're pretty much the exact same guitar besides the top and the inlays.

I think the RG2EX1 actually looks kinda better. But yeah it's just the looks, whatever looks better to you.

If you like the RG3EXFM1 more in terms of looks then I'd spend the extra $50 to get it. You'd have a guitar that you prefer the looks for, for as long as you keep the guitar which sounds like a good investment to me

On a side note, Ibanez model names always remind me of spaceships...
