I'm sure you guys know the kind of music I'm talking about: music that makes your brain melt as you enter into a state of bliss. Basically, being high without drugs.

Can anyone suggest to me any of this sort of music?

edit: I stickied the thread for myself, otherwise I won't get through all these suggestions. Cheers for your input guys

I've been drunk, and some music makes me feel the same way.

Complete difference, man.
When you get high and listen to a good trip-out song, it's complete bliss.

Madvillain's "Madvillainy" might make you do that. Seeing as though the album is chock full of pot references and samples of old school marijuana films, it'll be painful to listen to sober though

Other than that, Post-Rock is pretty impacting music at times. When I first listened to 65daysofstatic, I thought they were the most amazing band ever.

Electric Wizard, although being high is really the only way to achieve what you describe. Actually, I highly (LOLOLOL) recommend getting high and listening to Electric Wizard.

Pink Floyd! Great when you're sober, even better when you're stoned. IMO the most talented musicians to ever create rock music.

TS, you definitely could've worded your thread title better.

On topic, A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama by The Fall of Troy, or pretty much anything by The Mars Volta.

Tom Waits: Blue Valentine, Blood Money [Albums]

I've had a lot of U2 and The Killers music put me in a blissful state, even though I don't listen to them that much.

Van Morrison's been doing that to me lately. As soon as I hear one of his songs, I feel great and I can't help but sing along with it.
