Goodday!,

Next week I'll buy EMGs for my Explorer, but I am going to install the Epiphone Humbuckers into my Squier Bullet strat.

I don't have any questions about making place for the humbuckers, but I the thing I would like to know is:

Can I just solder the humbuckers to the singlecoil wires? Or do I need to do more than just connect them to the original wires?

Another option is:

Putting ALL the electronics from the Epiphone in the Squier.

What do you think?

Could I make it like this with the standard Epiphone pickups and the standard Squier wiring + 5way switch?

Or can I also do it like this and put the singleCoil away (so I have a dead spot at the selector switch which is OK.

Nope. You won't get any combinations at all that way. Positions 1 & 2 will be bridge only. Positions 4 & 5 will be neck only.

hmm well instead of the pins connecting to the middle single coil just solder them to the ground...!!
Nope. Then you'll kill in positions 2, 3, and 4.
