Well, not me. A friend is just starting out playing bass and for the moment he's borrowing an old rusty no-name bass from a friend, so he's looking into buying his own. He's in a tight budget, however, he's willing to expend no more than $200. He's into Muse and looking forward to be a slap bass player. Right now, he likes the Yamaha RBX170 and the SX SBJ Ash. Anymore suggestions are welcome.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think

For $200 an Ibanez GSR200, but he'll need an amp too. If he can muster $200 at least for the bass, and another $150 or so for the amp he'd be in perfect shape

No, he doesn't have an amp, however, he has a stage monitor he uses for bass. And, like I said, the budget won't go anywhere higher than $200.
