I have a pair of earbuds made by Ultimate Ears, and recently the left earbud started cutting out. I've had this happen before on less expensive headphones, despite trying to take good care of them. It's either a pinched wire or a loose wire. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem on my own?

You should check out ultimate-ears.com to see if they have a history on those earphones.

EDIT: Oh gosh the site is real. O_O

I snapped my high E once and sliced my finger open, so I can only assume snapping the low E would put me into a coma or something.

That really is their site...haha I'm going to give them a call tomorrow but I don't think they're under warranty and I don't want to pay for new ones. Any DIY tips?

same thing happened to my skull candies and earlier my ipod headphones
with the ipods, the wires near the end came loose so my left earbud totally went out and with the skull candies the wire twisted which cut out the left if it wasnt in a good position, u could try straightening out the wire and making sure its not messed up otherwise just get new headphones :/

I currently have a pair of Bose headphones that I need to resolder a wire together. I might just take it to a shop to get a new jack put on because it's a job I don't feel entirely comfortable doing. So take them to an electronic repair store and see what they can do I guess.

Stick the headphones in a toaster and let the toaster deal with it.
If it were socially acceptable, I would drape myself in velvet.

And if the Toaster can't do it, we'll let the Microwave handle that.
If not the microwave, try the oven.
