#1
This is a song I wrote a few days ago. I'm not quite sure it's finished but I'm not quite sure what work needs to be done so... crit away

Keep in mind that it's a song and it's sung and not spoken so the flow isn't too much of a problem (currently everything fits fine in the melody).

(Verse 1)
One day I found myself
Walking a golden path alone
When I came across a tin man
By the side of the road
He seemed rusty and lost
And falling apart
Crying out to the skies
If I only had a heart, so I said

(Pre-Chorus)
Hey there, Mr Tin man
Hunting for a heart
You can have mine
I would gladly part
With this frail and fragile organ
That's caused me so much pain
And bears this fruitless love
That's driving me insane

(Chorus)
And I will never have to love again
And I will never have to lose again

(Verse 2)
Further down the path
I came across a field
A bare and empty patch of land
Where no crops could yield
And there stood the scarecrow
No thoughts could fill his head
He asked to buy my brain
And in reply, I said

(Pre-Chorus)
Hey there, Mr Scarecrow
Bartering for some brains
I will sell you mine
I am okay
With parting with the paranoia
That's caused me so much mess
Please, take it off my hands for nothing
No more and no less

(Chorus)
And I will never have to love again
And I will never have to lose again

(Middle 8)
Nearing the end of the path
I came across a wood
The trees were bare
The leaves nowhere to be seen
And that's where I met the lion
The cowardly lion
Filled with fear
And I said to him

(Pre-Chorus)
Don't worry, Mr Lion
There's more than one of us
No self-esteem
Hiding in these woods
With a heart filled with love
But our path blocked by our fears
And a brain filled with ideas
But no courage to share them with the world

(Chorus)
And I will never have to love again
And I will never have to lose again

(Outro)
No I didn't reach the end of the path
I wasn't strong enough
And I lay down in that wood
On a blanket of leaves
No heart, no brains
And no self-esteem
And I fell asleep
