how does he make a tremolo effect without a tremolo? such as in this performance (part im talking about is at :55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxODVe13xvg)
i see he is picking close to the bridge. is his bridge one that has a tremolo but its removed and he is pushing down on it to get the effect?

He's pushing down on the floyd bridge.
Also he tunes his guitar something like an 1/8th step down then bends each note up with the bridge like that, sounds weird but thats how he gets that sound.
