University of Maryland kicks major ass

edit: Oh this is for music. Nevermind...Maryland still kicks ass though
If it were socially acceptable, I would drape myself in velvet.

ive been advised against looking into berkeley. i was talking to my teacher a few weeks ago, and he said that people who go to berkeley, in most senses, arent attending it to advance their musical skills any further, because they dont need to. they just go to it for the networking. many dont even graduate, they wind up in a project/career before they do.

in terms of places people go, with the intent of finishing their degree and advancing their skills...ive heard USC is a good option.

miami is one of the top 40 schools in the country and the music program is incredible.

Clearly you haven't looked into it enough seeing as how you can't even spell the school's name correctly.

Anyways, if you're trying to study contemporary music then Berklee is your best bet. If you want a more formal environment check out New England Conservatory, Eastman, Oberlin, Cleveland Institute of Music, and U of South CA.

...modes and scales are still useless.
