I was wondering if having a mic preamp before it gets to my interface would help my sound a bit, i.e. make it clearer.

Right now I have
An AKG Perception 220 microphone
Lambda Lexicon Interface

I'm recording electric guitar.

Anyone?

I think it would. I have a Lexicon Alpha and the built-in mic preamp isn't all that great.

sure, just remember to riun it into the line in on your interface and not the mic in. (make sure your interface has line level inputs)

Yeah, it has two line level input in the back. Now can someone recommend me a mic pre at a budget of maybe $200?
