I have Visual Studio 2008 on my laptop. I also have a nice shiny new C++ book I bought. It uses Visual Studio 6.0. I assumed that this would be all fine and dandy, as 2008 surely owuld be compatiable with the 6.0 examples on the CD. They are not. All the files are converted, and refuse to load. In the CD examples it brings forth hundreds of errors; somtimes so many it stops compiling in order to tell me it has too many errors. If this is the case, should I be using 6.0? Is it better?

tl;dr: Should I be using Visual Studio 6.0 or 2008?

Has there been any changes to the C++ standardization since 6.0 and 2008? That would explain why alot of code does not fully work.

most likely i know some of the syntaxing had changed from them :S altho i was on Visual basic tho as its only higher, and i noticed parts of the code got changed or didnt work.

So im thinking most likely by the way your talking its the same case really.
