hey really quick question, i have a seagull s6 and just bought .056 gauge strings. i tried to replace the low e and the bridge pin wont stay in at all. is it possible that its because the gauge is too large?

If I remember correctly that's pretty thick (i usually refer to gauge from the high e)
it could be because the string is too thick but I'd have to look at it to be sure either way
