Hey, i just broke one of the string on my RG series, so i want to know what kind of strings you guys can recommend me.

i'm an ernie ball string user, but i don't mind trying other strings such as dean markley and etc...so what can you guys recommend?

my preferences of the string needs to be bright and twangy....if you know what i mean.

Ernie Balls, super slinky. I tried D'addario, but they rusted far to quickly for me.
This being said, it still only takes about a week or two for the slinkys to rust to a point where I need to change them.

Factory on trem equipped RG's are d'Addario XL 9's.

really?

which rg that comes with d'addrio XL9's?

from what I know the 09 prestige and the j custom comes with dean markley blue steels from the fujigen factory. yes, i've tried blue steel and I love the way it sounds, in fact ernie ball strings is only a try out on the ibby guitar, IMO does not turns out to be great while on the other hand the same ernie ball strings sounds awesome on my jackson dinky. and i agree with most people here that ernie ball strings get rusty way too fast.

ur talking about GHS boomers extra light right?

i've heard a lot of positive review about it.

I've decided to try GHS boomers and elixir strings on both my RG and the S series. for elixir strings, should i get the nanoweb or the polyweb coating and what's the differnce between this 2?

Mine, for one, RGR421EXFM

I was under the impression all the trem equipped Ibanez's came with 9's, and the fixed bridges are 10's, it's possible the Japanese ones come with different strings than the Indo ones, sure.

I am 100% sure mine has D'addarios on it, and it's a month old.
