I have been looking at the Behringer UCA202 as a computer input.

I have a Shure SM57 microphone for recording a BH15 amp. I also need some sort of Microphone preamp. Although I plan to use a Behringer Xenyx 1404 mixer, which comes with a UCA202 and SS mic preamps "comparable to boutique preamps" (lulz), I don't mind getting a better microphone preamp and input as I piece a decent 1 track capable home studio.

I was considering a Behringer tube microphone preamp (with a decent clean tube in it such as a Sovtec chinesse (gt-12ax7-c) or maybe JJ ECC803S/83S)

I am open to other opinions, but I am not looking for insane quality. Also, I am limited to USB input as I do studio stuff on a customized netbook. No firewire or PCI (or pcmcia for that matter.)

Thanks!

I guess no one has been brave enough to give it a shot. I'll report back after I spend some time on it
