Hello Guys.

Could you chaps help me out as to which guitar to get?
I play pop/punk, stuff like Blink 182 and Green mostly, so could you help me decide?
i only have £300, and i need a new guitar.
I have had my eye on a Squier Telecaster, or a Epiphone SG.
Think they will work?

Much appreciated guys and girls

yes they all would.

a hss strat or a humbucker equiped tele from squire are fantastic.

If you are looking for a quirkier, not so smooth, modern green day feel, may i suggest something with a P90.
I managed to pick up a epiphone LP Junior with a P90 for cheap and it just soaks up old and new green day style playing.

in the UK (you said £s) for price + quality IMO at low prices you can't be vintage by jhs. Will blow the epi out the water! I reccomend the V100 particularly!

list prices are £200-£300, but shop around and you'll find them for more like £150-250.

Of course they would, I wouldn't have suggested them if they weren't

There's absolutely no point blowing the whole £300 on a guitar if you've got a little crapbox of an amp, you'll just be horrendously disappointed when it sound practically the same as the old one.

The ultimate punk/pop guitar is the Stratocaster, but check out the Melody Makers too, they work for that genre too.

This is also a good point. One of my friends uses a fender stratocaster in VW for pop punk kind of stuff and i love the sound, it would be good looking up either a squier or a fender (don't know the price) but maybe the price is a bit high.
