I remember seeing a page about building a lightbulb attenuator for a valve junior a while ago..
the Ultimate VJ modding thread (and any other link I can find on the web)still has a link to valvejunior.com, which is where the lightbulb page used to be, but now the link leads nowhere/ valvejunior.com doesn't exist anymore :/

does anyone know where I could find more information on this?
I'm making an attenuator whether I find out more about the lightbulb one or not.. I just figured a light would look way cooler

^ I know its possible..

essentially replacing a resistor in an attenuator with a bulb.

I just have no recollection of what configuration the attenuator is, or what sort of things I should be looking for in a bulb..

It was a 12volt, 7watt bulb. Just wired in series with the speaker.

Pretty much.

Anything'll act as an attenuator if it can convert a portion of the electrical energy to heat (or any energy for that matter). The overall result could be pretty awful sonically though.

It'd make for a funny story, though.

"Why is there a light bulb in your amp?"

"Cuz I can"
