arent these the same note with different names

what you call the notes is dependant on harmonic use and position.

if in F# minor and you wanted to play the the natural 7th you would name it E#, not F

to expand....they are different KEYS...but the same enharmonic notes...

yeah it seems silly but it actually makes a difference....there are very few pieces in Cb...B Major has many more....

an aside...Cb is a bitch to sightread.....
