Found this one on craigslist yesterday for $175. Apparently it's a lawsuit Explorer copy made by Bradley. It was made in Japan in the early 80s. The seller was not the first owner, some of the modifications appear to be a Kahler bridge and Schaller tuners. The headstock looks like it cracked off and was repaired, but it plays fine. Honestly this is one of the best playing guitars I have, I'm glad I bought it! The only problem is that the floating bridge is kind of annoying. Does anyone know if it is possible to block a Kahler?

Pretty nice, not a fan of that color. The Kahler should actually be some fun.

Good idea, I hadn't even noticed most Gibsons didn't have them. As for the guitar, I'm so surprised by this. It just sounds amazing!

HNGD Very cool older Explorer Copy! I agree loose the toggle switch ring unless the pick guard is damaged.

HNGD And good deal on Craigslist, I love cheap guitars and I love 'em better when they're customized! I'm trying to get some cheap First Acts myself at $30 a pop so I can do some mods that may or may not ruin them...
Always tin your strings.

Well, I think I'm gonna leave the pickup selector ring for a while. I tried prying it off but it seems to be glued on and I don't want to crack it. I don't think I can just buy another pickguard either because of the shape. Oh well, I guess I'm happy the way it is for now

I'd rock that. HNGD!

Yeah I forgot to mention that. I think i can buy a replacement online, shouldn't cost much.

Nice, tuners and the bridge would cost more than $175 anyway.

Yeah, as you can see the thing is quite banged up and I think that's why the guy was willing to sell it for so little.

What's interesting is that after I saw it on craigslist, I searched the internet for information on the company. It seems to be pretty rare, but I found a listing from a couple of years ago:

And photos:

At first, I thought it was just another model without the Kahler, but looking closely, I can see that the online model has the exact same scratches and the same repaired crack on the back of the neck. Apparently it's the same guitar and somewhere between that site and my hands someone installed a Kahler. It's kind of interesting how this guitar keeps changing hands.
