I'm thinking just getting spray paint and paint over the whole thing, but I've never used spray paint or anything. Tips, kinds of paint, etc?

If your talking about the graphics side, don't even bother with it because its just gonna get grinded away in a matter of weeks. Spraypaint and stencils is best for the griptape side.
