So i turned my amp on today. (mesa boogie roadster) standby for a minute then on. I tried playing guitar, but i got a lot of fuzziness from the speakers and no volume till about 4 or 5, which should be loud as fvck. I turned the amp around and all the tubes light up on standby, but when I turn it to "on" two of them have a blue tinge on them. Could they be just worn out? They're mesa 6l6s btw

Yeah thats what i was thinking, any brands specifically to look at?

i let it sit for a while on standby and then turned it back on and it worked…

Can't be sure why that's happened, but it's a good idea to make sure you've got some spare output valves ready. Personally I've always preferred JJ power tubes in Boogies, but any quality 6L6 wil sound fine.

You might find the fuse will blow soon enough, that's another sure sign the tubes are on the way out.
