Hi, I seem to be having a problem with the inverted power chord section of Orion. Sounds nooby I know, as it is the easiest part of the song, but I can't get it to sound right, I just get a horrible fuzzy noise and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Any suggestions?
What you're doing wrong is not playing it right. Play it very slowly, and just practice a lot. You also might want to check to see if your guitar is set up properly. There's a sticky at the top of the page that will help you out.

I don't think I'm set up incorrectly, other parts of the song sound awesome with my current set up and EQ, I guess I must just be playing it wrong. I don't think I've ever played inverted powerchords before, how do you play them? Barre like you would with a normal power chord or finger the notes individually?
you mean this part?
Em Bm/D Ebm/B
    Gtr II
      PM| PM| PM PM| PM| PM PM| PM| PM| PM|

'cause those aren't inverted power chords... they're thirds. Anyway, use your third finger for the A string and your first for the D, except for the part that's Bm/D, use your 2nd finger on the A string and your first on the D.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
