no. but it doesn't make you unmanly either.

like if you cry someone is not gonna say "DAMN YO THAT GUY IS SO MARRRNLY"
but if your dad or significant other died and then you cry they won't say "SHIT SON THAT GUY IS SUCHA PUSSY"

The greatest men in the world have all cried like freshly raped babies at some point in their lives.

Dr Cox cried in an episode of Scrubs, and he is more manly that you will ever be!
#13
I don't think it's either, it's as manly as being happy, sad, mad, bored, or asleep. It's a by-product of emotions we all have, if people want to judge what being human makes me then go ahead but I certainly don't care.
#15
Crying is to be human..

Or rather, all men in the world have cried at birth.

He also stated that: "I still go to that same barber not only because I like the way his manboobs rest gently on my shoulders when he's trimming my sideburns"

No. I don't cry, I suppress all my emotions. I then proceed to beat a woman to relieve my Freudian anger.
Now THAT'S manly.

I wouldn't say that crying is MANLY. It's human, but it does not make you more of a man.

Many people would say the opposite because they expect a manly man to be in control of his emotions. But sometimes, even the biggest man needs to cry.
#27
It doesn't fit with the stereotypical "manlyman" image, but it is a natural human reaction and shiz, so it floats my boat.
You're using UG classic, congratulations.
You should be using UG classic.

Eh, depends what over

If you've just seen a lion eat an antelope on a nature programme then cry= unmanly

If you've just had someone step on your balls wearing high heels=manly

bad memories...*shudder*

Crying doesn't make you manly, and neither does not crying.

Of course it's manly.

Crying, and then writing a song or poetry about it is slightly lass manly.

It's not exactly something someone can control, so associating it with gender roles is silly at best, and psychologically damaging at worst.

Crying all the time at the slightest thing is a bit soppy, but thats the same with girls as well, but some things are acceptable for a man to cry over.
WHOMP

Think of that next time you are not allowed to laugh.
#38
I voted no.

It isn't manly, but you're not a woman for doing it. Every human (nearly) has feelings and emotions and crying is an outlet for some of them, there's no reason to be afraid of doing it.

No, real men bottle sadness up inside and become abusive alcoholics.
