its an acoustic not a solid body

Ahh I meant like. Not laminate?

Sorry, I can play guitar but my knowledge of the instrument is very minimal :|

aparently the top is solid wood, but for that price, i'd say the sides and back are prolly laminate.

if it specifies the top is solid (which it does) and just writes the wood name, which again, it does, it will only be solid top. if it had said solid rosewood back/sides, it would be, but as it doesnt specify for them, but DOES for the top, they will be laminate.

if a company is selling you a fully solid wood instrument, theyre gonna want to advertise that as much as possible.

No offense to Stud Muffin, but I'll just clear up what he said a little bit:

If it says something like Solid Spruce, you're getting solid wood.
IF it says something like Spruce, It's most likely laminate
If it says something like solid rosewood backs/sides, you're getting solid wood backs/sides
If it says something like solid rosewood back, you're probably getting a solid back with laminate sides.
If it says something like Rosewood backs/sides, it's laminate backs and sides most like.

And stud muffin is right, companies really like to express that a guitar has solid wood if it does.

thanks for clearing that up clayonfire, sorry TS if it was a bit confusing, but i guess you get it now its been explained properly

solid top and electronics? yeah, it's worth the price. whether the build quality is good and you find that it sounds and feels good - those are other issues.

Pic doesnt say what it is, nor can I find a guitar at exactly £169 or there abouts, but consider these two:

SkeetEDIT: I see it's a Tanglewood...not a bad choice.
