I need a new tube amp that is fairly loud (can get over a loud drummer and another guitarist) and is preferable not too expensive. I would probably buy it used if I could, so im thinking I would spend 300 to 500 on it. I currently have a gibson sg and i play blues to hardish rock. Also i would be willing to get some pedals too so if the dirty isnt that great thats fine. Good dirty channel would be a plus though. Can you please recommend some good amps for me? thanks.

Well, technically it could be done, but only in the same way that you could change a cat into a hamburger. It's an unpleasant process, and nobody is happy with the result.

The Classic 30 is more than loud enough.

And Ultimate-guitar.com is a Russian website just so you know, and is made up of many different groups of people, from Americans, British, Australians, Germans, Canadians, Hong Kong-ians, Filipino, Vietnamese, etc.

30 watts tube roughly equals 100 watts solid state. and i suggest peavey classic 30, or ac15 (would be plenty loud still. the ac15 is louder than other 15 watt amps)

I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..

Used. Peavey. Classic. 30.

You might invest in a good OD, too - for the price you pay, it's great on it's own. But an OD really brings it to life - as do a speaker change and some nice tubes. Those aren't as big as the pedal though.
#19
For the affordable and flexible option I'd go with a windsor studio or a handsome devil with a nice OD pedal.

No. Good classic tube amp on a budget does not automatically equal 5-15 watt tube amp.

As people have said, a classic thirty, and as the guy above me said, a superchamp, would be good for your needs. If you really wanna go all out on it, go for a plexi clone though. (assuming you have a cab already).

Well, if you want to be heard over a drummer you'll need probably fifteen watts or more. My suggestions are-

Peavey Classic 30
Bugera V22
Used AC15

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple
Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha
You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.
#24
All I can contribute is: get the Classic 30 as others suggested. It's a bargain. I got one a month ago, and it smokes my bandmates Orange Rocker 30. It instantly makes you play like all the 70's guitar gods. I'm sure there are better amps out there, but the price for this on is incredibly low.
One warning: it's loud as hell. Can't really push it past 4.5 on the gain channel before your ears start bleeding.
