Im buying a guitar used from guitar center...It costs 1299, and im wondering how much you guys think it would come out to with tax?

thanks
#2
1299 x .07 = 90.93

so about $91 in tax.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

Tax is relative to where you live, down here in Texas tax is about .08 percent.

This is the stupidest question about gear.

This, makes me sad.

It also makes me angry. But it still doesn't justify why, even with the us exchange rate calculated, everything at billy hyde is %150 more than the US. Greedy fcuking slutty prostitutes.

Shipping cost, There is most likley some kind of import tax. I'm pretty sure ESP/LTD and probably some other brands go to the US for QC before they get shipped anywhere too.

Also for amps/etc there's the trouble the companys go to to make 240v versions for a way smaller market, and just the fact that the demand for music equipment is alot smaller than somewhere like the US contributes alot to our higher prices.

In short, if you're too cheap to support Australian buisiness' buy overseas, you won't get charged import tax on anything under $1000 AUD

Yes, those are two good points, but Australian businesses have big heads and usually think they're better then they are. They have alot of 'Boutique' stuff and not enough Bootalz MCchuggawug, and if they are Brotalz Mcchuggawug, they're still too expensive.

I hate life now.
