I'm currently interested in buying a mark iii head off a person on the boogie boards

First of all its 750 for a blue stripe is a fair price to paay?

Second its my first time buying online using pm on the forum

He is asking me to pay the money to his paypal account

Is there anyways to ensure it is safe?

What if I pay and he never ships ?

Does paypal have any kind of a money back thing ?

Thanks

usually if its on ebay or any other online stores. but i'd be careful because this could be a scam and paypal would only recognize you giving him/her money as a form of a gift or a transfer method aka western union. personally i buy all my stuff at musicians friend, half.com or ebay.

Is it a head? If it is, that's about the average I've seen lately, although I have seen one for $650. Does the guy have any references or is he a frequent poster? If none of the above, I'd be a bit cautious. You might want to contact PayPal about buyer protection. They're policy is weird as ****.

See if you can get some contact info for a reference that he's dealt with before. And the $650 went in a few hours. That's way too good of a price for many people to pass up.

He probably won't be willing to unless he covers the extra eBay fees.

Next time ask in the new members forum but go to control panel up by the reply button and click edit signature once it takes you to a new page. It should be on the left side of the screen.

Where it says what forum you're in, look below that. Click on 'Control panel', and then once that load, on the left hand side their will be a thing that says 'Edit Signature'

ya honestly ive never used gear classifieds but I just want some sort of big company with a backup policy behind me. I use craigslist and stuff all the time and it usually works out great. But in terms of a new Mesa Head? I want to be 100% that thing is coming. Is there not some sort of money order or something where he doesn't get the money order until he goes to the post office and ships the thing. I swear there is a way to do that.

I have bought stuff from random forums gear classifieds before. My head came from HCAF and my modules came from HCAF and MTS Forum.

I would just check his post count and if he has references listed in his signature. Guys flip stuff all the time on that board.
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

Not really. There are a lot of people that buy/sell/trade via internet forums.

A lot of people don't want to pay the posting fees to list their gear on ebay.

and seriously the posting fee is $3. He can deal

so boogie board isnt that trustworthy?

It is one of the most trustworthy places to buy mesa stuff used actually. People get put off with gear classifieds on forums, but 9/10 guys are really trustworthy. Also, any of the actual real trustworthy guys will put a list of the people they have had transactions with in their signature. It gives them credibility AND accountability at the same time.
