I just got new strings. They're the Zakk Wylde sig strings and the bottom three are a thicker gauge than normal. The low E string appears to be to big for my nut and when I play on the first fret it buzzes like mad. Also, when I tuned down to drop Db, the first and second fret on the low E sounded exactly the same.

Anyone with advice?

Get new strings, or you can completely screw up your guitar and get a new nut, and waste money on that. whichever you prefer

Put a piece of tape on the headstock and write "Gibson" on it.
If done properly, this should quadruple your sustain.
