I once had this old reallllly shi*ty guitar called an "Epi". No, it wasn't an epiphone, it was just some knockoff called an Epi. I used to keep it in the car and play on my breaks or before work. It was AWESOME. Playing guitar in the car is simply amazing. I have no idea what happened to that guitar. I moved 3 times since then and I guess it just got lost in one of the moves. Everytime I go on break I usually just sit in my car and smoke a cigarette. Everytime I say to myself "mannn, I wish I had a guitar to play".

I'm looking for a guitar to keep in the car. Its got to be something cheap b/c I'm guessing drastic temperature changes will ruin the guitar. I don't know if I should go with...

Washburn Rover- (may be too much $, I'm not sure how much I'm willing to spend yet)

or

Martin Backpacker-

Or I was also thinking on getting some really cheap squier off of craigslist.

I will NOT be leaving the guitar in the car overnight, but it might end of staying in the car for about 8 or 9 hours though. Not everyday either. Maybe 3 - 4 days a week.

You think the guitar will get ruined if I keep it in the car for that amount of time?
Anyone else do this?
What should I do?

Well most guitars arent going to get straight up ruined in the car, you may need to set it up a lot more than you usually would. Its not going to fracture its neck or anything ridiculous like that though. I personally would just buy some cheap knock of electric, like a squier..... just make sure when you buy it that you dont care whether it does get by chance ruined or not, and you may want to keep a tuner with it too.

This is actually a very good idea, I actually have thought about this many times since I got my new job, comming back from lunch with about 20 minutes to spare and just hopping in the back to jam a little sounds fun.

I just remembered that Vox sells little mini-amps that you can plug into your input and it's like a little 1 or 2W amp basically, runs on batteries, cost like $30 I think.

Found em:
