Country/bluegrass

c4c

With my hour glass tipped over
and my time drippin away
with each grain of sand being one of my days
Wish I could I'd start it all over again
Cuz I've been searchin for so long
for what's been right here in front of me
ya I guess that's why the say hind sight is 20/20
I've taken so many things for granted and
treated my life so wastefully
hopefully somewhere out there is forgiveness for me
with a little luck the Old Man upstair's will have mercy on me

What I wouldn't give
to have lived
my life perfectly
without a blemish
or stain on my resume

What I Wouldn't give
to have been loved
so unconditionaly
without a cloud of a
doubt from my baby

Used to think my glass was half empty, here
lately I'm starting to see thing's another way
if only I could have known these thing's before
all my sand has slipped away.
27 year's old a gettin older by the day
now I look back and half my life has already passed me by.
I must have been lookin the other way
turn the other cheek is what they teach
but I feel so damned weak I dunno if I could be that way
what I wouldn't give to have that kind of strength

What I wouldn't give
to have lived
my life perfectly
without a blemish
or stain on my resume

What I Wouldn't give
to have been loved
so unconditionaly
without a cloud of a
doubt from my baby

The lyrics are pretty neat, but it's hard for me to imagine as country or bluegrass. Granted, I don't listen to either genre, but I just feel like I'm having a hard time imagining the beat.

I really like these lyrics. A lot. My one problem (it's kinda my pet peeve with lyrics) is that the verse seems a bit too long. Toward the end of the verse it also seems like it would be harder to keep a consistent beat. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like the lyrics, and the beginning of the verse has a nice flow to it, but from there it feels hard to imagine.

I dunno, just my input. Good lyrics, but I think the verses are lengthy.

Ahh ya I know what ya mean, this is pretty much a rough draft it very well may be too hard to put a beat to I alway's write my lyrics before the music that way I know if the lyrics are even worth the time writing music for. I am saving my money for a good recording interface and a mic and once that happens I'll actually start posting a song to crit, thanks for your input
