Madison Divinity 2?
Carvin V3?
Engl Powerball?
Mesa Dual Rec Road King?
Peavey 5150/6505(+)?
I play metal/hardcore, but I want an amp that can clean up as well.
Any Suggestions?

I have had the Carvin V3 for about a year or 2 now. I started playing death metal with it. I was using an ibanez with emgs and it could pretty much do any tone i wanted it to. I now play a shit load of blues with it using teles adn strats and i can hit a lot of classic blues tones with it. the clarity on the clean is really nice with a very smooth overdrive. it has switchable wattage from 100 to 50. I use the volume boost a lot. as well all 3 channels are well balanced. the only thing missing is reverb.

Outta those, the Road King will be the best.

Madison amps are said to have AWFUL reliability (in fact, some of their amps have components which are held down by duct tape)

Carvin V3 is a great amp but I'm not so sure about comparing it to a RK.

The Powerball is a great amp, but is said to be a bit too compressed. Compare the ENGL SE to a Roadking, now, and you have a more interesting fight. However, ENGLs are more expensive in the US so the price difference can be pretty painful.

The 5150/6505 has awful cleans, and everybody uses them. As a result, they sound kinda generic for br00t4lz. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you got it modded for better cleans and a slightly different voicing.

Please quote your source, otherwise provide pictures of the amp and its owner for verification.

While I am aware of Madison's reliability (or lack thereof), this statement is downright ridiculous. If you're gonna post something like this, Rai, I'm gonna have to ask you for the source.

Not that I don't believe the possibility, but that is quite a stretch and you're gonna need to back that up with evidence.

U guys got anything?
Off the top of my head, you've got Soldano Hot Rod Avenger 50 (probably the best amp within your budget), Framus Dragon, ENGL Powerball, Fireball, Blackmore, Orange Rockerverb (not particularly metal, but still great), Hughes&Kettner Switchblade, H&K Trilogy, Line6 Vetta II, Laney VH100R, Laney GH50L, Randall RM100, Peavey 3120, XXX, JSX, 6505+, 5150, Bogner Alchemist, etc.

Let me scour ebay for you's.

edit:
Mesa Boogie - I have only played a Single Rectifier, but I owned it for a while with an Avatar 4x12 cabinet). Look up a few reviews to see what this one is like.

Soldano Decatone - This is a slightly cheaper version of the famous SLO, which amps like the 5150 and 6505 were based on.

Framus Dragon - I owned this for about three weeks. Pretty tasty, but be careful, it sounds like crap at low volumes, unlike the Powerball. The Rectifier series was similar, you had to really push it to get juicy tones out of it.

Splawn Nitro - I have no personal experience with Splawn, but they all sound great through clips. And a few respectful users here on UG own them and love them.

Now, just to warn you, I haven't played half of those amps. They are the ones I have personally looked into buying myself and researched. They all have high-gain (apart from the Orange Rockerverb, which is more vintage in it's gain)

If you want any more suggestions, just ask. That's all I can find for now.

Let me say that you, sir, are the single most helpful person I have seen in a long while. Thank you for all the suggestions. Holy crap.

I REALLy like the VHTs. Especially the deliverance. I was looking for KT88s in an amp, and there they are. I also like that they threw in the 12AT7 in there as well.

I am free to use a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectumfrier, and I hate the thing at low volumes. The other guitarist and I like to go to said low volumes so we can write things, but it just doesnt work with the mesa. However, it attracts alot of attention at gigs, but I, personally, dont really like it.

Btw, I have two corgies.

Used 6505+ for the brutes. Used Roland JC-120 for cleans. Run them in an A/B pedal and there ya go. if you dont ever use cleans (which is the case for tons of metalcore players, like myself) then i suppose i would go for a Triple Rec or somethin. there are tons of amps in that price range.

the one rig i have been working to set up is similar to the A/B setup i suggested. being that i also play other styles and record other styles, having a great clean amp sitting around isnt a bad thing.

i wanna run either a 6505+ or a Dual Rec for my dirt, and a JC-120 for my cleans. everything I would need. go try some stuff, youll find somethin ya love.

CORGIES!!

I love high-gain amps that use KT88 or KT66's. I think they are really organic and raw sounding tubes. Not too American, not too British.

Aapparently the 120 version of the VHT Deliverance actually sounds better than the 60 watt version, which is not what I expected, but the reasoning behind it does make sense. Of course, it's all down to your ears and how you percieve the tone.

Soldano, I believe, stock KT88/66's in their amps sometimes.
