Hey UG so my teacher is selling his 15 year old american prs ce 22 in purple i think. He says it's before the new neck joint happened on prs's and I think that's good. I have a few questions.

Is this guitar the same as the custom 22?

What type of pups and what can they handle?

He's selling for 950$ is that a good deal?

And just some general opinions on feel and reliability.

I'm gonna try it next week just wanna get some info.

Thanks

IF it really is a USA prs he is selling, then 950 is a steal.

Wicked deal. Alot of people I talk to like the old PRS' better. Play it and see what you think.

Most definitely a good deal. The old PRS' are flippin amazing. Just make sure you try it before you make the purchase.

well its not the same as a custom 22, it has a bolt on neck, the pickups are actually amazing though, especially if it has the PRS switching, you can get just about anytone out of those guitars from metal to jazz to surf, $950 is about right, id try to swindle him down to $900 or $850

AND it's his teacher you want him to swindle. Real classy.

"before the neck joint" means it was made prior to '95. So it's one of the hand made non-mass production guitars. Very good stuff. $950 is about $300 low imo. If it plays nice, and isn't beat all to hell, doitnao.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Yes, except for being a bolt-on maple neck instead of a set mahogany. Otherwise yes I believe, they were discontinued so I can't be sure though.

As anyone who owns a PRS will tell you, damn good types and whatever you want.

Hell yes.

Feel; PRS makes some of the nicest feeling necks I've played on. Reliability, I've taken the factory tour, they all put a lot of heart into what they do, so I trust their reliability.

the one my teacher has is the one with the half moons and a trem, but if the ce22 and custom 22 are similarly priced then 950's a good deal
