Hey what's up? Just recorded (via crappy laptop mic) a video of me covering the first 2 mins of "Master of Puppets." Some stuff is a little changed (the gallop picking during the verse is straight downpicking but I do it both ways in the video), but other than that it should be pretty spot on. No backing track/metronome was used so the timing is a little off at times.

If you guys want, I can do a lesson for it up to (and including) the harmonized solos because I never learned the song past there...but should haha

Leave some feedback, let me know what ya think!

Thanks!

What's the point of covering a song that's been covered at least 10.000 times before?

LOL, for some reason the impression I get from you is like some wacky Frank Zappa of metal pulling pranks at the Grammys and telling crude jokes during interviews.

To demonstrate skill, showcase your playing style, get some feedback, and show off a little.

awesome downpicking

thanks man! That song is rough on the right hand for sure...I like to throw in that gallop picking during the verses (I love Trivium) and its just an all around great workout for both hands

Thanks man, never heard Iced Earths version but I try to make every cover my own in some way (gallop picking/few pinches in this one)! Do you want more of Master or just more songs in general? haha

You're gettin there man! You'll definitely get it. It just takes practice. This might sound crazy but get a small audience of friends or something to play it in front of. For me, this causes a mini adrenaline rush and it just seems like I can pick much faster/easier haha I don't know if this is just me or what (same applies for live shows too obviously).

Thanks for the comment on the shred video man! That was through my Micro Cube They sound great!

well iced earth didnt do a version of it
though it would be cool to see

the reason i said it, was iced earth uses the triples so much in there songs

its not a bad thing it was the reason i said it

and yea i would love to see a full version
it great to see people play songs as well as the song on the album

Hell yeah man. "Selkies" is one of my favorite solos ever (even though I don't really like BTBAM ). Very nicely played.

Sorry about the sloppy pinches haha I didn't really catch them but I'll work on em for next time!
