Hey, I was wondering if anyone could give me some adive of how to get a good tapping tone?

I've been getting really into tapping recently after to listening to alot of Math rock, but I can't seem to get a tone balance right that gives me a good tapping sound across the whole fret board.

I have a Squire Jazz bass and an old Trace elliot with a 7 bar equalizer.

Thanks

Bridge and neck pick ups should be about even, favoring the bridge if anything. Treble should be up a hair.

Really, I find the best tapping tone comes from an almost flat EQ
