Hey guys,

Check these out.

My friend Kieth has been making Lego guitars and basses for 8 years now. I thought I would share his hobby and art with the 'net.

His latest two (the blue 5 string bass and yellow 6 string electric) Are full neck through designs crafted with all new parts/accessories. Brand new Carvin neck blanks, EMG golds on the guitar, strap-locks, and approximately 1500 legos per guitar.

YES they keep tune, play, and rock. They're not as light as you'd think. That's a lotta legos. They do not feel like a toy to hold, they feel like a nice, high quality instrument.

Check out a video of some of his other guitars in action. Bass & Guitar

Haha amazing stuff it looks pratical..Can only imagine the time and effort that goes into that..how much would one of those retail for?
#10
They are fully glued. No one has dropped one yet. It would be cool to see one smashed but I don't think I could do it.

EMG's yes, not a fan? Because they can be changed out easily enough.
#13
Fairly arousing. It would be cool for sort of a novelty value, but I wouldn't want my only guitar to be made of legos..
#14
think about it. you can literally change the color and shape of your guitar whenever you want!

assuming things are glued together..?

hell man, why HZs? those arent worth shit, put the real ones in there!

Everything is glued together except for the panels holding the wiring, etc. The pickups screw in, and can be replaced. You could set these babies up any way you wanted. I'm not sure on a commissioned piece. I'll have to ask him.

How did your friend connect the neck to the body?

He doesn't want to share that detail at this moment. I can tell you that it's a genious design. The latest two are neck through. The bolt-ons that he makes utilize different strengthening methods and require extra bracing.

They're not that big. They're bit enough to see the details, but not overly big.

I know. I thought I had them resized before posting. At least they are being hosted elsewhere and not causing the forum bandwidth...

I can try to resize but like I said, I thought I had it fixed already.

Thanks for all the positive notes

I'm sure a nintendocore guitarist is going to buy that.
If I had the moolah, I'd buy one just to play nintendocore. Though I'd like it to be more 8-bit.

It could be just a wood frame covered in legos, or atleast some wood support on the inside. That's probably how the neck is connected. Technically they can't be neck through unless the neck wood extends into the guitar. But if it is completely lego, with no wood bracing then it'd be similar to a set-neck, not a neck-through

Wait.....is it neck-through with Lego wings? I can't imagine Legos on their own would be able to put up with the tention from the bridge.

You are correct. It would be more like a set-neck. It is completely lego with no wood bracing. The neck does extend through the body, and does not bolt on.

You cant if they're super glued together, because, you know, its super glue. It holds things together, like glue or something...

So you're telling him to go from a passive piece of shit to an active piece of shit?
The logic astounds me.
