Mark Tremonti likes to use a wah in a lot of his songs

i would advise againest getting the cheapest cry baby after the omg a new pedal phase wears off you will relise its not that great. But to each his own i recomend.

Voodoo Chile <so much fun
white room
all along the watch tower <the solo
and the hammet solos arent nearly as hard as they sound so many of his licks are just trills with wah a plenty.

if you play with a floyd rose i would say try bad horsie by steve vai because of the fun sounds in it.

Personally I think anyone who wants to learn to use a wah well should stay the hell away from Hammett; in my opinion (and that of many other people I know) he uses it too much and badly.

On a more positive note: most pro guitarists have used a wah at some point, just listen to your favorite artists and listen out for the wah effect and then try to emulate what they're doing. On the other hand you could just play what you normally do but try adding the wah and seeing what happens.

Michael Schenker said in a recent interview that he used too much wah in the past, and that listening to some of it now makes him cringe. Maybe Hammett will have a similar awakening.

Kirk has already publicly said that he "can't get off that God damned wah-wah pedal" because of one of the Thin Lizzy guitarists, I think it was Scott Gorham.

Anyway, the solo from Pull Me Under by Dream Theater has some wah in it, and the end of King James by Buckethead, too. And then pretty much ALL of Electric Funeral by Black Sabbath has wah. Can't believe nobody said it yet.

It was Brian Robertson I was actually going to come in here and say look at Thin Lizzy, Robbo has some amazing solos with it, like Don't Believe a Word, Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed, Warriors or the more well known ones like Jailbreak or The Rocker (the studio one isn't Robbo, but the Live and Dangerous one with him I think is better).

Civil War and Sweet Child O Mine are kinda wah heavy. Hendrix has a lot of wah stuff.

By the way, don't get a cheap wah pedal. Spend at least $100, anything below is usually bad.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
