Hi,
I have a record/direct out with XLR jack on my hughes and kettner tube 50 head, I use it with my cab still on, so I can moniter the sound I'm recording, is this okay?
Also if I don't use my cab, so only record out to pc, will it hurt my amp if a cable drops out or something like that?

cheers
Hendrik

not only is it ok, it's pretty ****ing important that you maintain a load.

But it has a fake load normally, it's a red box.

ok, a dummy load is fine.

are you asking what would happen if the xlr cable "fell out" or whatever? nothing. i mean, you'd lose your signal, but nothing harmful to your amp, so long as the load is correct.
