In UG's Control Panel, it says that in different parts of the world, the week starts on different days. I was never aware of this. What is the day that marks the 'start' of a week in other countries or parts of the world?

It's obviously Sunday in the USA.

Actually, I think most people in the U.S. think of it as Monday.

Are you sure? I'm almost positive that it's Sunday...

Monday here. Except the end of the week is referred to as Friday. I'm in France btw.
An Augmented 4th or a Diminished 5th?

Well, not religious or anything, but in the bible god rested on the seventh day and that{s the day of sabbath so... that would make monday the start of the week

Officially, it's Sunday. But I do agree with you.

It's Sunday officially, but everyone thinks the beginning is Monday because that's the first day you have to go back to work or school.

I've never met one person who thought the beginning of the week was Sunday.

It's SUPPOSED to be, but its not.

I definitely consider Monday the start of the week. From the UK by the way.

EDIT: I don't see why it'd be different in any countries. As far as I know Monday is the start of the working week pretty much everywhere.

monday here in Italy. I don't know if there really are countries where that's different.

I think it's all the same. Official start is sunday, but most of the people see monday as the start of the week because of school/work.

Used to be Saturday in the Arabian Gulf region since Friday is their day of rest, but in order to keep up with international business days they changed it to Sunday.

The week ends on Monday, and starts on Sunday.

well it should be sunday with it being called a week-end, works like book-ends;

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

But Monday is usually taken as the start due to, as previously stated, average work and school rotas starting.

I suppose from a religious (Creationist) point of view Monday is always the start as Sunday was the 7th day, the last one in the week, and Monday was the first.
