voodoo amps does some great work with jcm800's

...but yeah, a front loaded OD is usually all they need.

put hot glue in the secondary input jack. Fill it up all the way. It clears the signal path for the first input and makes everything sound 10x better.

^ I've never heard of that one. Funny, cause a 2205 only has one input?

Often they just modify the gain stages for more gain, can do it with an extra tube or with diodes, the second of which is often frowned upon, but seeing as a 2205 has a small amount of diode clipping in the gain stages stock, it makes little difference to the character of the amplifier.

The other big one is upgrading the effects loop from the fairly primitive, usually adding a signal boost that's primary function is to compensate for the loss of volume from the pedals in the chain, but can double as a solo boost (not to be confused with a gain boost).

Those are the big ones i usually see, occasionally they'll add various improvements to the clean channel, but that's about it.
