Im looking for songs or bands that have sound clips from movies, tv shows, ect in them. These bands are usually pretty hardcore and often associated with straight edge.

An example would be Liferuiner or xAFBx. Through The Eyes Of The Dead also uses plenty. Anyone who knows any other bands or songs have this type of thing in them please let me know.

Thanks

Umm is it just me that finds this weird? You think this is a good enough feature of a song that it is worth looking for?

Maybeshewill and Mouth of the Architect used the same sample from the film "Network".

Neither of which are "hardcore", by any stretch.

If you're not limiting yourself to rock, there is a HUGE amount of rap with movie/tv show samples. Some of the best comes from MF DOOM, Handsome Boy Modeling School, and Wu-Tang Clan.

Associated with straight edge? I always thought the opposite was true. The bands I know that sample movies and other shenanigans use all kinds of drugs, but I'm sure there are plenty that don't. Japanther and Lightning Bolt come to mind.

you should also be calling up the harry fox agency to secure a synchronization license if you're gonna do that and don't want to get your ass sued for copyright infringement.

Parkway Drive used Pirates of the Caribbean for Mutiny. And they used No Country for Old Men in one song, just don't know which. At least, I think it was them.
EDIT: Maybe not the No Country one. But Guns for Show has Die Hard in it.

GUT's album 'odour of torture' uses a ton of porno samples.
'gargling with infected semen' by amputated uses a hilarious porno sample.
mortician used a quote from the original when a stranger calls.

I love the entire speech.

I think Maybeshewill used it a tad better than Mouth of the Architect, but both used it insanely well.

Number of the beast uses a quote from the Bible (the bit about the number 666).

The Prisoner uses a quote from the 60s TV show of the same name (I AM NOT A NUMBER, I AM A FREE MAN!)

Children of the Damned is a reference to either a TV show or a Movie, I can't remember.

Run to the Hills is about an old movie favourite- cowboys and indians

thinking about it, Iron Maiden use a lot of TV and Movie Quotes.
??? Fund: cba to keep up with it.
