... or if there aren't any, what traits/behaviours are the closest to "specific" to humans?

I just came back from class where we discussed this and I have a few ideas, but I'm wondering what you guys think.

Philosophy, religion, and overall just a more advanced system of knowledge, as well as the capacity to learn quickly and efficiently compared to our fellow creature here on earth.

Though other species can in fact carry on a conversation, or cry for help, it is nowhere near the strict grammatical system that we, as human, employ in everyday life.

Possibly killing our own species, not sure if there are any other animals that do that
🙈 🙉 🙊

Sentience?

An idea of right and wrong? No other animal (that i can think of) has any sort of morals, it's all about survival.

Apparently some types of ants will enslave other colonies, also dolphins kill porpoises for no known reason really.

Let me get this straight. You're asking a bunch of people who are sitting at their computers, likely due to boredom, what to do for fun.

Social species have a knowledge of who to look after and who not to. Which is a basic form of morality. Morality comes from survival really.

The ability to limit ourselves by choice. Think about it. If a tree has optimal growing conditions, it won't just not grow.

A lot of the stuff like morality, empathy, religious beliefs etc. can't actually be proven, unfortunately. At the end of the day, we cannot possibly know whether or not a giraffe believes in a God.

You've clearly never seen a cat catch a mouse. They torture their prey before killing it.

This is true, but organized religion without effective communication is impossible.

A lot of animals have very effective forms of communication, just different ones to humans. I think if it's possible for other animals to have forms of government (e.g. ants), then organised religion should also be possible.

Laws and morals go hand in hand. They're rules we make up to survive as a social species, like other social species.

Other creatures have "rhythm" too and long cranial hair... er...

Doesn't have to be global or anything, or very complex.

I believe I remember reading an article about religion among a species of monkey (the Bonobo IIRC). Really basic stuff like reverent behaviour around waterfalls etc that seems to be the beginning of religious belief.
We'll see.

There is an australian bird that makes his nest with blue things to arouse the female. Also the peacock to some extent qualifies.

Bonobo monkies also do this. Including oral and homosexual sex.
