Okay. That's It. I just heard that Bogner and Mesa Boogie are collaborating on a 6 channel, 200 watt amp that has twice the distortion of a 5150 and cleans that make a Fender sound like a First Act from Wal-Mart.

They're calling it the most obvious cross between Bogner and Boogie: The Booger.

Who's putting in their pre-order for the Booger MK I ?. *Raises Hand*

Bogner and Mesa Boogie? thats gonna be some scratchy buzzy tone then. anymore than 1/2 the 5150s gain sounds crap to me.
#10
First of all, it will no doubt be expensive as hell. Nobody really needs 200 watts, and nobody really needs 6 channels either. I'm not really telling anyone not to get it, because that's their business, but I can't imagine someone using that kind of amp to its full potential.

Also, source?

6 channels? 200 watts? I'd expect that thing to have a death ray. If it doesn't im not intereseted. Wtf do you do with 6 channels? I have a one channel and half the time that confuses me.

Besides I wouldn't want to be all "Yeah my amp is a booger". They could at least make it sound cool. Or put the logo really small where no one can see it.

Will it be green?

what is the point of a 200 watt valve amp, 100 watts is more than enough

I guess that the point would be to give you more than enough headroom before the poweramp tubes start to break up, so that you can get nice preamp distoriton and cleans.

Cleans to make Fender sound like First Act AND double the gain of the 5150
I highly doubt it to be honest, and even if they manage it. You're going to have to sell your house and at least 3 vital organs to buy the damned thing.

Plus, I don't play metal. So I don't want one anyway.

Perhaps a certain combination of buttons on the footswitch transform the amp into Megatron?

^Not if you like being able to hear. Plus when would you get to crank it?

Cranking 30 watts usually leaves my ears ringing.

If that Mesa's for real it makes me want to buy a Brian May Sig vox.

Close. Actually it transforms into MESAtron, Megatron's younger brother, who is made out of mystic Nu-Metal.

Who the **** unbanned you?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean...

200 watts would be usefull for immense amounts of headroom with the dynamics and feel of a tube amplifier.
I would just demand a very large master volume knob so that it doesn't feel like it is impossible to get a precise volume.
#28
Dude, with that much crap it should have a built in Smoothie machine.

Even THEN I probably wouldn't buy it though, because I like having all my organs in my body and not on the Black Market.

Its an inside joke... if you see the HDB flats in Singapore you'll get the joke.

The flats tend to be generally small, with many units of flat in one block, so a usual joke is that high powered electronics like high wattage amps or high power audiophile equipment might just draw so much power the lights in the whole block will flicker.

sharp__edge probably got the joke off the bat.
