"During the chase through the Westwood neighborhood off Highway 273, a resident apparently heard on an emergency radio scanner that police were looking for a man wearing khaki pants and a San Francisco 49ers sweatshirt.

[Sgt. Steve] Moravec said the man wondered if police would notice him if he went outdoors wearing the clothing of the suspect they were searching for."

Well, they did. He's been arrested and could face charges of obstructing and delaying a police officer. A fair cop if you ask me.

That's a pretty clever move if you want to draw heat from your escaping partner. You get fined or something while your delaying of the police allows the other guy to escape.

True, but that's not what he did. He didn't match any of the rest of the description of the suspect, just the clothing.

Yeah, that's the kind of bonehead tactic that only works in movies.

Sure got the cops' attention, though.

They didn't catch the other guy. Maybe they were collaborating?

Hey, when you're bored, you need something to do, so why not dress like a fugitive? Just don't forget a stereotypical money sack with a $ drawn on it.
If 4 more people tell me to go back to writing The Vanishing Point, I will.

So they noticed the clothing even though the guy didn't match the rest of the description? Dn't that mean the real culprit could get away with just changing his clothes?
