For home use that seems a bit overkill bump. What about the RM series, like an RM20?

but in terms of tone, do watts matter?
cuz i was also thinking of getting a marshall head but then changed my mind cuz i didnt need all those watts.
are watts just for volume or can i get a similar tome with the lower watt ones

watts = headroom (the time it takes the volume knob to make the power tubes distort)

so....it depend on what you play the most...

metal = high watts, good preamp disti

A 20w amp will not do metal well, because it will sound like blues music but loud and be flubby

there are marshall type amps that are 50 watts and below that will work fine

what kind of metal?

well im looking for a metallica-type tone
any suggestions?

i know i can get it with the marshal and i can save up for it but my room is literally 3x3m
the marshall distortion pedal gives a really nice distortion, so i wanted an amp that will project that well
ill think about a marshall if i start playing outside my room

^need a budget - but these amps can do Metallica (maybe not the modern tones)

6505+ 112 $600
Vypyr 60 $450
Valveking 112 $400
Classic 30 $500
HT5 Mstack $600
Windsor head $200

I don't know how much the Randall RM20 is. Maybe someone else has some contributions.
