What are the differences in each stage?

Is it simply more amp models? I'm trying to find a reason to justify buying an HD147 over a Flextone, or a Vetta over an HD147.

many thanks

The Vetta and HD147 are on the same level.

I believe the HD147 is more suited to metal, though.

Really? It seems to me that the Vetta has more amp models (looking at the line 6 website). Or else what justifies the extra cost?

Vetta has the most amp models. HD147 has more cab models I think. Vetta can run 2 amps at once.

I have a lot of clips of my vetta in my profile if they interest you

Wat.

The Vetta is MUCH better than the HD147.
You can find a lot of professionals with great tone who use Vettas, not so much with the HD147.

I really like your clips...

Do you by any chance remember what amp models you were using to get those sounds? In particular, My Curse, Holy Diver and Stricken. I'm guessing all the Peavey hi-gain amp models? like the peavey xxx, 5150, 6505 etc.

The HD147 is the "metal" or "high gain" models of the Vetta.

The Vetta is far superior in modeling to the Flextone IMO, though I still prefer the SV over the Flextone

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Quantity or quality? I thought they all the models on both amps were based off the same POD.
