I'm trying to choose between:

The LTD EC-1000 ASB w/ Seymour Duncans
or...
The LTD EC-1000 VB w/ EMGs

I like The look of both equally so it basically comes down to : SDs or EMGs?

There are no stores around me that sell ESP so i can't go out and try them.
My esp i have now has emgs and i like them very much. Butt i hear very good things about the SDs.
Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Seems like this belongs in the Electric Guitar forum.

Maybe find out the actual models in those two guitars and then make a decision. Those two brands have a lot of pups, which sound VERY different.

Also, what amp are you using? what do you play? etc.
Fender Highway 1 Strat
Agile Septor Pro 725

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Axe-Fx Ultra

Depends, if you mainly play metal, EMG's. Anything else, SD's.

GUITARS CURRENTLY USED
Ibanez RG7621
Ibanez RG121
ESP LTD H-400

Unless you plan on playing nothing but HEAVY stuff, that means metal or some seriously brutal rock and beyond, I would go with the seymour duncans. They're generally a very good bet.
What exact SD pups are in the ltd?

get the one's with the seymour duncans. 59's and jb's are way better than emgs. i personally can't stand the tone of emg's, unless you got like decent equipment
sex, drugs, and rock and roll have turned into aids, needles, and techno..

i believe its a JB/Jazz combo.
get the SD's, in any case (in my opinion) JB is pretty hot, jazz will kill EMG's for cleans and nice neck pickup solos. i have one guitar with an EMG81, the other with a PG+/59 combo.
SD>EMG at everything in my opinion
Paul Reed Smith CE22
Fender Spalted Maple HH Tele
Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Korg Pitchblack
Boss GE-8 Graphic EQ
Dunlop ZW Wah
BBE Two Timer
Mesa/Boogie Mark IV Combo
Mesa/Boogie Rectifier 212

Get the one with EMGs. I've played it and it was great, and EMGs aren't as bad as some people say they are. If you know what your doing, you can get just as good a sound from EMGs as SDs.

Weird Kid: Do you play by ear?

Me: No, I play by hand.

Thanks again for the help.
And to answer some questions:
I do play mostly metal. Everything from COB to August Burns Red to Death and everything in between.
The SDs are the JB/59 set and the EMGs are 81/60s
