I'm currently updating my guitars electronics, I have a Telecaster with a humbucker in the neck with a single coil in the bridge. I would like the 500k pot brightness for the humbucker yet I want more of a vintage sound from my single coil. If i were to use 500k pots in my tele is there a component I could wire in to the circuit to reduce the brightness of the single coil?

Thanks,

Aaron

dual volumes? run that into the switch, then out to the jack? that should work... me thinks

You deserved this, Matt.

Well I don't really want to drill a hole for another volume pot, or lose my tone pot. Not a bad idea though man

Could I do something similar to this but place a resistor in the line between the pickup and the 3 way switch/3 way switch and pot?

Concentric pots. A 500k for bridge vol/tone and 250k for neck vol/tone. No holes required.

Yes.

I recommend just using the 500k pot and listening to it.
You may find you like it this way.

If it's too bright, add a 470k resistor in parallel with the bridge pickup.
This is a very cheap and easy fix.
